Our Mission and Vision

History

The Lake Josephine Improvement Association is a non-profit association of homeowners on – or with access to – the lake. It was originally formed in 1996 as a 317A corporation, with an eight member board.

In early 2017, the association applied to the Internal Revenue Service for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. We are pleased to announce that we were granted federal tax-exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, effective May 7, 2017. For homeowners, this means that most donations received after that effective date are considered charitable gifts and are tax-deductible.
